American Agony Blog Tour Post #02
I am very grateful to my host for welcoming today’s blog-tour post. Sadly, the book I’m writing to you about comes at a time when our healthcare system—indeed, the very practice of medicine—is being invaded and mangled by federal and state officious officials. Specifically, a crescendo of “medication negation” impeding the prescribing of opioids for pain has built up over decades: (1) In the halls of Veterans Administration (VA) hospitals, denying Veteran amputees prescription narcotics; (2) On the premises of paincare clinics by Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) police raids intimidating doctors, preventing pain-patient care; and (3) In federal courts by Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors tricking physicians into pleading to bogus “lesser charges” to avoid decades in prison for “conspiracy.”
The real conspirators are government lawyers. Too many irresponsible DOJ leaders have built their fictions against physicians and their pain patients on the false narrative that drug addicts’ deaths—mostly due to adulterated fentanyl and fentanylized heroin from dealers—are invariably related to opioids prescribed for pain. Such non-scientific balderdash has been gloated over by DOJ operatives and DEA renegades in irresponsible, self-congratulatory press announcements that have poisoned the public mind from the pens of genuflecting “journalists” who don’t do their homework to discover the actual facts. Facts are what you’ll find in my American AGONY: The Opioid War Against Patients in Pain, published by Fresh Ink Group. This American torture is trickling down even further, from “no more opioids for every adult pain category”—including cancer—to none for suffering pediatric patients and, bewilderingly, none for post-op, sick, and injured dogs and cats. Your pets!
As a registered nurse and long-published medical-science and pharmaceutical writer, I turned my heartbrokenness over the 50 million known pain sufferers and the thousands of cold-turkeyed patient suicides into determination to fully investigate these injustices. I want to hold the CDC, VA, DOJ, and DEA accountable. I demand that opioid prescribing for pain be restored to physicians and other prescribing clinicians, experts who must be guaranteed immunity from government interference in medical decisions using opioids to treat pain. My book comprehensively covers what pain patients, their doctors, and other advocates can do about it—a compendium for change. It speaks to physicians frightened by the DEA into not prescribing opioids, to lawmakers clueless about the millions of their constituents suffering, and to pain patients who might already be contemplating suicide. It provides specific information about medical malpractice, negligence, and wrongful-death lawsuits. It covers how to sue government agencies and government employees. It’s a book pain patients can find useful at their rallies, too.
Thanks again to my host and to all of you for your interest. Please spread the word and share my book trailer on YouTube. I look forward to feedback from everyone affected.
