Come To Me
By Fiza Pathan
Stop wasting my time dear intellectual lover and tell me truly
To you wish to own my heart or to throw my soul to the vultures.
Tears wash my face every night as I lay on my pillow.
Dear intellectual lover don’t philosophize with the poet
And tell me in earnest of your love for me.
Wherever you go, I shall be there
Omnipresent I shall be to haunt you from day-to-day.
Pick yourself up from your slumber
And embrace me to your bosom.
I love you dearest, can’t you see my head is floating,
In the clouds over the horizon.
Your innocent eyes and your dusky skin
Make me wither and shake in spasms.
I yearn to hear your voice every passing day.
Come to my lair dearest intellectual lover
And abide with me in this land of happiness forever more.
Say that you care even though it’s not true.
Say that you want me even though it’s a lie.
All my muses have abandoned me
And you are all that I possess.
Your smile is like the breath of spring to me.
Hark, take heed and come
To my land of verses and amour.
