So This Is Love
by Fiza Pathan
So this is agony, this is pain.
When the world closed in on me,
And you took my name.
Since then the malaise is piercing my soul to ashes.
I’m all aglow, and with waxen pallidness I know.
That when you called my name, that was love.
A cadaverous hue, I betook.
To cover my face’s bloodless eyes.
So this is agony, this is pain.
So this is love.
Monotonous and tedious are all my days.
Without you the light grows dim,
And I do cry.
My heart stitches a loving sigh to your voice.
So this is the wonder of platonic affection.
So this, can still the moving planets.
So love can make me dream death aloud.
So this is agony this is pain.
So this is love.
Eyes soft and calming can hypnotise,
My sentimental lyre.
Your deep stentorian voice echoes tunes to my harp.
Your hands just fits into mine, entwined.
So this is the legendary song of eternal affection.
So I fell for your contemplative guise,
And faded my guiding moon.
My hearts blood slithered silently, nourishing your laugh.
So this is agony, this is pain.
So this is love.
