The Flame Will Always Burn
by Fiza Pathan
I cannot sleep and my eyes are wet with hidden tears
I cannot keep awake as the flame still burns;
They call me insane as no one knows what’s unreal
And I know that I’m never going to get over it
The flame will always burn.
Losing myself piece by piece is tough
But losing into pieces is another question;
It’s my blood being drawn out from this world and its vague reality
But I know that the flame will burn and it will always burn
Burn down my reality, into a world of lost love.
Lost love, why do you torment me!
I try to forget you, but my delusion conquers your actual heart of stone;
Your flame was not ignited
And mine, will not ever get extinguished
The flame will always burn.
Burn into my chest and open up the wound of obsession,
That led one man to the cross, and the other hanging on a tree;
Burning away the futures hopeless riddle
Of life, of love and of loneliness
The flame will always burn.
The flame now chokes me as I cry,
Making me cough as I cry out your name;
They say you are an illusion and that with a bit of poetry
Your whistle will not bring you back to me
But how will I ever get over, lost love.
Broken heart
Stolen heart
Lost love
And an undying flame.
Nice poetry, with amazing weave of words.
