Yet You Have Not Left Me
by Fiza Pathan
Years have passed with the changing tide
The sun has risen many times over the horizon
Yet you have not left me, you are still with me.
The moons of the planets revolve
Around the black ocean of spatial madness.
The stars have lost their glimmer, they cease to shimmer.
Yet you have not left me, you are still with me.
I lived and died too many times yet you have not left my memory
They killed my love for you, they nailed my fate to a stone tomb.
Yet you have survived the turmoil, you yet reside with me.
The universe expounded into the blue distance
The daylight has blocked out the dark shadows.
Yet you have not left me, you are still with me.
How long will you be my tormentor?
How long will the flint of your remembrances
Rub against my fatigued heart.
How long will I see your face following me?
As I live on from age to age.
Get away torturer leave my soul not just my life
Lies were heard by my ears everyday,
As you sang out your woeful saga.
Lies were all that you poured into my veins.
Yet you have not left me, you are still with me.
Cry with me, my old lover
Hear the mourning sigh of undying passion.
Could you touch the cord of flesh that plays the tune of my downfall?
Yet you have not left me, you are still with me.
Hear me heavens,
Hear me sky,
Hear me earth,
Hear me gods,
Hear me old lost lover,
Death will not quench
The thirst of a broken heart.
